-John William Waterhouse: Apollo and Daphne-

Lately, i'm so interested in Sir John William Waterhouse's paintings.
Thus, i decided to share his paintings with my friends her.
This painting named
Just like her name,
this painting is about the love story of apolloe and daphne.
Apollo offended another god, Eros, the god of love.
Hence, Eros as god of love, decided to punish Apollo.
Eros shot two golden arrows.
One arrow dipped in gold had the power
to create insatiable lust in a person,
while another created absolute
abhorrence towards all things romantic and passionate.
The arrow dipped in Apollo,
while another dipped Daphne.
Daphne was the daughter of the river god Peneus.
Apollo chased down the maiden,
desperate for her love,
but she wanted nothing to do with him,
and she ran from him endlessly.
Soon, she grew weary in her running
and that Apollo would ultimately catch her.
Fearful, she called out to her father for help.
As all gods of water posses the ability of transformation,
Peneus transformed his daughter into a laurel tree.
Suddenly her legs took root,
and her arms grew into long and slender branches.
Apollo reached the laurel tree,
still enamored with Daphne,
held the tree in a special place in his heart.
He claimed the tree the as his special tree,
and adorned himself with some of it's leaves.
And that is why the laurel always,
a symbol of the god Apollo.
The story above i read and edited.
This only of John's paintings.
All his paintings also figure out the ancient tales.
I like those since i was young.
Therefore, i easily attracted by his paintings.
that is all for this night.
More coming up in another blog.

-Wall E-

I watched the latest cartoon by Disney last friday.
It is really such a good movie.
Two thumbs up!
The movie actually is about a robot, Wall e.
The only robot left in earth, who in charge of clean the earth.
In the movie, earth is polluted and no one live here.
Human move to the space and live in a huge space ship.
No one care about earth.
One day,
wall e met with one robot, Eve.
Eve had sent to the earth to search for plant.
Wall E fall in love with Eve.
They started a romantic and warm story of robot.
It's really worth to spend your time to watch this movie.

-What you see is what you think-

I saw one comic before.
there are four strips
the first strip
show two people sleeping on bed,
husband and wife.
the second strip
show that wife woke up and switch on the fan
then she went back to sleep again.
the third one
show that husband woke up and switch off the fan
then he went back to sleep again.
the fourth strip
show both of them also woke up and look at each other....
underneath the comic,
the author ask...
what you think the comic show?
the readers commented:
this comic
show husband and wife were sleeping,
wife feel hot so turned on the fan,
but husband feel cold and switched off the fan,
then they both feel angry
and look at each other and quarrell.
most of the readers said that
either the husband or wife also selfish
cause they just care for their own feeling.
"why can't the husband be gentleman a little,
since his wife feel hot
and switched on the fan, why can't him tolerate?"
one women commented.
"why must the guy tolerate? why can't women think for man sometimes?"
one man commented.
after long period of argument,
the author then comments,
"i was disappointed, no one really know what the comic mean about.."
According to the author,
actually the second strip
show that the wife know her husband
not comfortable with hot.
so she switched on the fan.
the thrid strip show
that the husband know his wife easy get cold,
that is why he switched off the fan.
the fourth show
they look to each other and smile.
what we look not really what we think,
we always fooled by our own eyes,
when we get scolded,
we seldom think why one want to scold us?
when we get hurt,
we won't think whether he/she hurt when they hurt us?
Put your feet into others' shoes,
we feel what they feel,
understand that
we are not look but see,
we are not hear but listen,
we are not talk but speak.
